My name is Amy E. Todisco and I am asking for your support and your vote on November 6, 2012 to serve as the next elected Judge of Probate for the Towns of Easton, Monroe and Trumbull.

I am an experienced probate attorney, having practiced almost exclusively in probate, trusts and estates, and elder law for over 27 years. My practice is concentrated in representing executors and administrators in the administration of decedents’ estates in probate courts throughout the State of Connecticut; representing petitioners filing applications for the appointment of conservators of loved ones when they are no longer capable; representing individuals for whom a conservatorship is sought in contested matters before the probate court; adoption of children through the probate court; termination of parental rights in the probate court; representing children in custody and guardianship proceedings; being regularly appointed by probate judges to serve as a fiduciary in various contested probate matters; and, representing disabled individuals and protecting public benefits for disabled individuals through the establishment of special needs trusts through the probate courts.

My legal and community experience have prepared me to be an effective Probate Judge: I believe in strong family values, am conservative in my judicial philosophy, and will be a strong voice for our families as your Probate Judge.

The most difficult cases are those where a family has suffered a death or a catastrophic illness. For me, the reward for my dedication in such matters comes through my being able to help the family in making their difficult decisions and otherwise assisting them. Our Probate Courts are where many matters involving the estates of loved ones, conservatorships, guardianships and other family matters are decided. That is why it is so critical that a Judge of Probate must be an advocate for individual rights as well as the integrity of families.

As the next Judge of Probate for Trumbull, Monroe and Easton, I will be able to hit the ground running on February 14, 2013 when I will assume office– with over 27 years of practice in this area, the transition will be seamless. I have the requisite qualifications, depth of knowledge, dedication, community involvement, work ethic and experience necessary to be Judge of Probate for our towns.
